Stakes Winner Vibank to Park Stud in Canada

Vibank, a 2005 Sovereign Award finalist, has been retired from racing and will enter stud at Michael Byrne's Park Stud near Orangeville, Ontario, Canada. The 4-year-old son of
Silver Deputy will stand for CAN$3,000.
A finalist for champion 2-year-old male, Vibank broke his maiden by 9 1/4 lengths and then won the Victoria and Clarendon Stakes in consecutive fashion at Woodbine. At 3, he was stakes-placed. He retired with four wins from 11 races and earnings of $248,084 for owners James and Alice Sapara.
"We're delighted to stand a son of Silver Deputy, whose son Posse is doing so well his first year at stud," Byrne said.

Sealy Hill Canada's best in 2007

TORONTO, Ontario - Sealy Hill stole the show at the Sovereign Awards ceremony on Friday evening, taking home awards as Canada's horse of the year, outstanding 3-year-old filly, and outstanding turf female.
A crowd of 250 was on hand at the downtown Westin Harbour Castle for the 33rd annual Sovereign Awards, which celebrate the best in Canadian Thoroughbred horseracing and breeding. The winners were determined via a poll conducted by the Jockey Club of Canada, which asked voters to list their top three choices in each of 16 categories with points assigned on a 4-2-1 scale.
The tone for the evening was set prior to the actual awards ceremony when Sealy Hill was presented with the triple tiara trophy for her sweep of the Woodbine Oaks, Bison City, and Wonder Where for Canadian-bred 3-year-old fillies.

Park Stud Raised and sold Peteski inducted into Canadian Hall of Fame

Canada's Horse Racing Hall of Fame announced May 19 that the Gustav Schickedanz, one of North America's leading Thoroughbred breeders the past 10 years, Canadian Thoroughbred Triple Crown winner Peteski and three champion runners, fillies Alywow, La Voyageuse and Maryfield are among this year’s inductees.
Harness racing sensation, Somebeachsomewhere, is also part of the class of 2009, as are two other Standardbred inductees -- driver/trainer Keith Clark and the broodmare Rich N Elegant.
The eight inductees were elected by the Standardbred and Thoroughbred 20-person election committees.
The induction ceremonies will be held on Thursday, Aug. 27, at the Mississauga Convention Centre.
The 80-year-old Schickedanz, who won the Queen's Plate (Can-I) in 1999 with Woodcarver and in 2003 with Triple Crown champion Wando, sprung into prominence when he bred a mare to one of Northern Dancer's great son

French stakes winner and group I-placed Missvinski attracted a final bid of $400,000 to headline the Jan. 14 session of the Keeneland January horses of all ages sale.
Consigned by Michael C. Byrne, agent, Missvinski is a 6-year-old mare by Stravinsky out of Miss U Fran, by Brocco. At 2, Missvinski won the Prix Zeddaan. Survivalist Sires First Winner in Wainwright

Graded stakes winner Survivalist sired his first winner when his son Wainwright eked out a neck triumph at Northlands Park Aug.1 in his initial start. Racing for Red Ron Farms, Wainwright ran the 3 1/2 furlongs in :41.60.
