Due to the recent outbreak of EHV-1 at Woodbine, Park Stud has called an end to the 2013 breeding season. "It was a difficult decision as we have always tried to accommodate our clients in anyway we can. The seriousness of this virus and the fact that it is so easily transmittable poses too much risk to the stallions, the horses residing on the farm and our clients mares. We would like to thank all of the breeders who bred with us in 2013, we had a truly amazing season and will look forward to 2014." Said Michael Byrne.

Alan Porter - Pedigree Analysis

Victor’s Cry is a grade one winning miler by the sensational young sire, Street Cry.

Victor’s Cry is completely free of Northern Dancer, but is by a stallion who carries Northern Dancer’s dam, Natalma, and a double of Northern Dancer’s granddam, Almahmoud, and of a mare by a son of Icecapade, a three-quarters relative to Northern Dancer.

Street Cry has already enjoyed tremendous success with Northern Dancer line mares, the cross providing him with at least 25 stakes winners, seven of them grade one. Among the Northern Dancer branches that have worked under Street Cry are Storm Bird, through Summer Squall (broodmare sire of a Street Cry grade one winner) and Storm Cat (including through Giant’s Causeway – sire of a grade one winner out of a sister to Street Cry -  Tale of the Cat, Storm Boot, Forest Wildcat, Forestry, Hennessy and his son Johannesburg, Stormy Atlantic, Stormin Fever, Harlan’s Holiday, Bernstein, Mountain Cat, Tabasco Cat, Sir Cat, Freud and Tomorrows Cat); Danzig (including through Dayjur – broodmare sire of a grade one winner by Street Cry – Chief’s Crown, Boundary, Danzig Connection, Ascot Knight – who gives a very clever pedigree – Belong to Me, Langfuhr, Danehill and Honor Grades); Dixieland Band (broodmare sire of Street Cry’s Champion, Street Sense, and available through Dixie Union, Dixie Brass, Hook and Ladder, Citidancer, and Chimes Band); Deputy Minister who could be sourced via Dehere, Silver Deputy, Awesome Again, Touch Gold, Salt Lake, French Deputy, Forest Camp, and Deputy Commander; Sadler’s Wells (who could be brought in through El Prado); and Nureyev (who is available through Theatrical, Stravinsky, and Atticus).

Street Cry is showing considerable promise with mares from the Seattle Slew line, and already has stakes winners out of mares by Seattle Slew himself, Slew City Slew, and the three-parts-brothers Capote (sire of Matty G and Boston Harbor, and grandsire of Mayakovsky) and Williamstown. He also looks promising through A.P. Indy (including through Pulpit, Malibu Moon, Mineshaft, Stephen Got Even, Golden Missile, Jump Start, Old Trieste, Aptitude and Flatter), and could also be brought in through Slew o’ Gold, Septieme Ciel, Doneraile Court, Fast Play, Gold Legend, Slewpy, Metfield and Houston).

From the Hail to Reason line, Street Cry is sire of the magnificent Zenyatta, out of a daughter of Kris S., from the Roberto branch. Kris S. is sire of Arch, Prized, Brocco, You And I, and Kissin Kris, and Roberto could also be brought in through Dynaformer, Red Ransom, Silver Hawk, and Lear Fan. Also from the Hail to Reason line, Street Cry also has a grade one winner out of a mare by Doc’s Leader (by Mr. Leader), and a graded stakes winner out of a mare by Saint Ballado (sire of Captain Bodgit, Sweetsouthernsaint, Yankee Victor, Straight Man and Flame Thrower). Saint Ballado is by Halo, who could also be introduced through Devil’s Bag (a brother to Saint Ballado, and sire of Devil His Due, Abaginone, Twilight Agenda, and Diablo), Sunny’s Halo, Jolie’s Halo, Halo’s Image, and Southern Halo (sire of More Than Ready).

From the Damascus line, Street Cry has a stakes winner out of a mare by Ogygian and a graded stakes winner out of a mare by Unaccounted For (by Damascus son, Private Account, who could also be introduced through Private Terms and his son, Afternoon Deelites, Personal Flag, Corporate Report, Secret Hello, and Valley Crossing). Damascus could also be brought in through Time For A Change (sire of Fly So Free) and Gilded Time. Street Cry also has two stakes winners, one grade one out of mares by Meadowlake, and a graded stakes winner out of a mare by New York stallion Thunder Puddles.
